Verticillium wilt of olive is currently the most important disease that affects this crop in Spain and in other countries. Since 2008, and with funding from the Spanish olive oil interprofessional, search for verticillium wilt-resistant varieties has joined as a main objective in the improvement programme in olive wood of the University of Córdoba.
