Diagnostic Center for Osteochondrosis for the Purebred Spanish Horse

Welcome to the web page of the Diagnostic Center for Osteochondrosis (OCD) for the (Purubred Spanish Horse) (PRE-horse).

This center was created in May of 2007, at the request of the National Association of Purebred Spanish Horse Breeders of Spain (Asociación Nacional de Criadores de Caballos Españoles, ANCCE), with the aim of realizing the radiological diagnostic of OC in the PRE-horse that take part in Certified Breeders Tribunals (Tribunales de Reproductores Calificados, TRC). The center was established in the Radiology Service of the Veterinary Clinic Hospital of the University of Cordoba (Spain).

For ANCCE’s agreemet all the X-rays realized on horses that take part in TRC, both in Spain and in other countries, are sent to our Diagnostic Center for evaluation, emitting an official certificate on the presence or not of exclusive injuries of this disease. Our work is valued within Spain and in many other countries. In this web we try to offer information, among other things, on the way realizing radiographic studies and the consecutive criteria for evaluation.
