Course Schedules, Classrooms and Exam Schedules

Course Schedules

Course schedules are published by the Governing Board of the Faculty, from Monday to Friday (art. 4 of the “Reglamento de Docencia y Exámenes de la Universidad de Córdoba – RDEUCO”)

Course schedules and the complete chart of responsible professors for each subject will be published by the Academic Secretary of the Faculty before advising and registration begin for each academic year. Exceptionally, the Governing Board of the Faculty may change the schedules or the responsible professor of a subject because of a petition of the Department Board, or because of the needs of the Faculty (art. 5, RDEUCO).

The Department will publish the tutorship and student services schedules in October, for each subject and professor, and will try that these schedules guarantee:

  • A logical distribution throughout the week.
  • Non-coincidence with the rest of lesson hours of each group.
  • Morning and afternoon shifts will be on equal terms (art. 6, RDEUCO).

Exams Schedules

IMPORTANT:

December exams schedules respect the norm of the RDEUCO (Reglamento de Docencia y Exámenes) about not scheduling the same day exams of subjects of the same year. Nevertheless, it is likely that some students may have several exams the same day, and even at the same hour, of subjects of different years or option subjects.

In the case of the simultaneity of exams, the student should contact the responsible professor of the subject in order to establish a new date for the exam, which must be included in the period of December exams.

If there were any difficulty to Schedule a new date for the exam, the student should contact the Secretary of the Faculty in writing and individually. The Secretary will confirm the simultaneity of the exams, according to the date and the hour, before publishing a new date. This new date will be published in the Faculty. The deadline for the communication in writing to the Secretary, about the simultaneity of the exam not solved by the responsible professor, is 14:00 hours of the day previous to the exam.

When a student cannot take the exam due to a cause different from the simultaneity of date and hour of two or more exams, the student should contact the responsible professor of the subject who, after considering the documentary, will schedule a new date as long as it is necessary. In this case, if there were any difficulty to schedule a new date or if the responsible professor does not accept the documentary presented by the student, the student should contact the Secretary of the Faculty in writing and individually. The student should include in their writing the causes which did not allow them to take the exam, together with the attachment of the documentary. In this case, the deadline for the communication in writing to the Secretary is 14:00 hours of the day previous to the end of the December exams.

There are five examination periods for each academic year:

  • December Exams (extraordinary): This is the first examination period of the academic year. This examination period is just for students who have repeated the subject. It is not necessary to request the attendance. December Exams Schedules will be published prior to 20 November of the academic year.

The attendance to these exams is limited for those students with 3 subjects or less, if they have a programme of studies based on subjects (old programmes), or 27 credits or less, if they have a programme of studies based on credits (new programmes) regardless of they have repeated or not these subjects, and as long as they have done the registration in the official period. It is necessary to request the attendance to the exam to the Secretary of the Faculty, from 1 to 15 January.
