Prof. Dr. José Pérez Arévalo

Doctor of Veterinary Medicine, University of Córdoba in 1992, conducted postdoctoral training in Univesitary College Dublin (Ireland), Cornell University, Ithaca (USA) and Bristol University, (United Kingdom). His research interest focuses on the pathology and immune response against various animal diseases, particularly against helminth infection in ruminants and the development of vaccines against these parasites. He co-authored over 90articles published in ISI journals, coordinator of the European project DELIVER (6th FP) and principal investigator of the European project PARAVAC (7th FP. He has participated in 4 European research projects in numerous national and regional research projects. Evaluator of several research projects of the Ministry of Education and Science of Spain, Argentina and Chile, and censor of 11 international journals.

His teaching has focused on teaching in core subjects (Cytology and Histology, Pathology and Special Pathology) and the Bachelor Degree of Veterinary Medicine, as well as teaching in the Master’s Degree: Medicine and Animal Health and the Joint Masters: Animal Husbandry and Sustainable Management: Livestock and Integrated Ecology.
Management activities: Deputy Director of the University Residence Lucan for 10 years (2001-2010).
