The staff at the Facultad de Filosofía y Letras helped me a lot with the registration process, which to me means that the university really cares about foreign students. In general, they don’t help you as much at my university.
Before enrolling in the master programme, I attended some undergraduate classes like economic geography, business English, microeconomics and statistics; subjects that I hadn’t studied much in France. The classes are very different from the ones at my university since we don’t have to learn so many things by heart like definitions, etc., while here you do.
The teachers have treated me just like the other students and sometimes it was hard to understand what they were saying because they speak very fast, although that didn’t demotivate me because it helped me to gain a better ear for the language.
I live in the San Basilio neighbourhood because it’s the part of the city that I like the best. I live in a flat with other Erasmus students. I like the city of Cordoba a lot because it’s very different from where I live; I like its small buildings and the historical quarter.
I have been studying Spanish for 7 years, but have forgotten the grammar because I don’t practice it. My goal is to speak Spanish well; I want to master four languages: French, Portuguese, English and Spanish.
What I like most about this Erasmus experience is that you get to meet people from all over the world with different viewpoints and I know that it is going to help me to open up and improve my CV.
