The Interreg Spain-Portugal Cross-Border Cooperation Programme (POCTEP) 2021-2027 focuses on the border between Spain and Portugal, which stretches for a total of 1,234 km, making it one of the largest in Europe.

The programme is organised around the 6 Cooperation Areas and 36 NUT III regions:

AC1: Galicia / Northern Portugal

AC2: Northern Portugal / Castilla y León

AC3: Castilla y León / Central Portugal

AC4: Central / Extremadura / Alentejo

AC5: Alentejo / Algarve / Andalusia

AC6: Pluriregional

The Andalusian provinces eligible to participate in this Programme are Huelva, Cadiz, Cordoba and Seville, included in the cross-border cooperation area together with Alentejo and Algarve.

Interreg Poctep co-finances up to 75% by the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF). The University of Cordoba will co-finance the remaining amount with its own personnel budgeted in the project.

The programme is articulated in 7 priorities that respond to four of the Policy Objectives (PO) plus a specific Interreg objective, for which different specific objectives (SO) and actions have been established.
