Biography

Alfonso has a research background in microeconomic and macroeconomic analysis, with a main emphasis on water and resource economics. He holds a PhD in Economics (University of Sevilla, Spain) and a Master in International Business (University College Dublin, Ireland). He has combined international professional experience in industry sectors with academic and scientific involvement.

Research Interests

  • Water economics and policy, focusing in economic instruments for water management and sustainable governance, water use valuation, water use efficiency assessment, etc.
  • Resource economics: natural resources management, waste management, recycling and reuse, sustainability implications, policy and governance.
  • Other research interests: International economics and entrepreneurship
