On behalf of the European Fusion Community the Max-Planck Institute for Plasma Physics (IPP) operates a group (http://www.efda-hlst.eu) for the high level support of European code developments for magnetic fusion related plasma physics and material modelling.
We are looking for 01.01.2019 experts in high performance computing and development of numerical algorithms.
Essential qualifications:
- Educated to degree level in physics, geoscience, mathematics or computational science (PhD a plus)
- Experience in code development on massively parallel computers with MPI (Message Passing Interface) and OpenMP
- Good command of written and spoken English
Desirable qualifications:
- Experience in Many Integrated Core (MIC) and/or GPU-programming
- Profound knowledge of Fortran 90/95 or C++
- Experience with scientific code projects of many thousand lines
- Knowledge of plasma physics
The position is limited to a period of 2 years.
The Salary is according to the TVöD Bund grade 13.
