The Analytical Chemistry Department was founded in the University of Cordoba by the Ministeral order nº 17.464 on 17th of May of 1978 (B.OE, 6th of July of 1978). Since this date, the main milestones in the history of Analytical Chemistry departement are stated below:

· Re-foundation of the department due to the deep modification of the university structure induced by the LRU law. September, 23th 1986.
· Foundation of the Analytical Chemistry and Ecology department as a consequence of the merger of both departments. November, 19th 1998
· Restoration of the Analytical Chemistry department. February, 26th 2002
