Why should I get accredited?

  • It is a requisite for completion of the Bachelor’s degree.
  • If you are not accredited, you will not be able to enrol in the undergraduate dissertation. 
  • You will have better career opportunities in the future if you can accredit your language skills.

How can I get accredited?

What is the minimum language proficiency requirement?

According to the CEFR (Common European Framework of Reference for Languages) levels for grading language proficiency, the required minimum level is B1. Language accreditation at the “Sagrado Corazón “Teacher Training School

  • The “Sagrado Corazón” Teacher Training School is affiliated to the University of Cordoba. Our school is an authorised Cambridge English preparation and examination centre. The Cambridge certificates accredit the required level of English.

Courses offered

  • PET (Preliminary English Test) – equivalent to B1 level
  • FCE (First Certificate English) – equivalent to B2 level

Who can take the exams?

B1

  • Current students
  • Former students
  • Anyone else who is interested in taking the exam

B2

  • Candidates who can accredit a B1 level with a certificate recognised by the University of Cordoba.
  • Students enrolled in a B2-level course at the school in the previous academic year.

We expect you to:

  • Study everyday
  • Attend class
  • Participate

We offer:

  • Courses designed for our students, with a flexible schedule in the mornings and afternoons adapted to the academic activities offered by the centre.
  • 90 places in total, groups of 9 to 15 students.
  • Weekly hours:
    • PET: 3 hours distributed in two 90-minute sessions, starting in the 3rd week of October and ending with the May examination.
    • FCE: 4 hours distributed in two 2-hour sessions, starting in the 3rd week of October and ending with the June examination.
  • Online support
  • Personalised attention: online and face-to-face tutorials

Fees

  • PET: To be paid in one instalment of €500 or two instalments of €250 each.
  • FCE: To be paid in one instalment of €600 or two instalments of  €300 each.

The above amounts do not include examination fees or the cost of non-photocopiable material.

Level test

  • In order to be admitted to the courses, you will be required to take a level test and obtain a minimum score of 5/10 points.
  • Dates: Saturday, September 29th (written exam) and October 2nd, 3rd and 4th (oral exam).
  • Fees: €10 to be deducted from the course registration fees in the event that you are admitted to the course.  Applicants who do not meet the selection requirements will not be reimbursed for the pre-enrolment fee.
Pre-enrolment registration period for level test: September 5th-26th
The following documents must be submitted to the Office of the Registrar in order to enrol in the courses:
  • FOR THE PET EXAM (B1)
    • Pre-enrolment form for the level test (download hera)
    • Photocopy of ID card
    • Photocopy of proof of payment of level test pre-enrolment fees.
    • For students who are already registered in the school: Photocopy of registration form for the 2012-2013 academic year.
    • For 2nd-year and 3rd-year students who have not registered yet, or former students: Photocopy of degree, degree certification, or last school registration form.
  • FOR THE FCE EXAM (B2)
    • Pre-enrolment form for the level test (download here)
    • Photocopy of ID card.
    • Photocopy of proof of payment of level test pre-enrolment fees.
    • Photocopy of B1-level accreditation, or proof of payment of registration fees for the FCE course of the previous year at the “Sagrado Corazon” Teacher Training School (if you do not have proof of payment, please contact the course coordinator: acreditaridiomas@magisteriosc.es).
    • For students who are already registered in the school: Photocopy of registration form for the 2012-2013 academic year.
    • For 2nd-year and 3rd-year students who have not registered yet, or former students: Photocopy of degree, degree certification, or last school registration form.
Course admission criteria
Once you have passed the level test, you must meet the following admission criteria:
  • Students enrolled in the school for the 2012-1013 academic year: score on level test + 2 points.
  • Former students or students who are not yet registered for the 2012-2013 academic year: score obtained on level test + 1 point.
  • Rest of applicants: score on level test.
