The “Sagrado Corazón” Teacher Training School offers its students a quality academic education comparable to that offered by other public universities. We aim to provide our students with an education rooted in the evangelical values and virtues of Christian identity, which inspire the school’s ideology. The academic offering of the school is therefore enriched by its formative actions rooted in the evangelical values of Christian humanism. The school’s mission is to train Christian educators, who are prepared to participate in the world of education in accordance with the values and in the style of the Gospel, from a Christian conception of humankind and the world. Our students must therefore respect the Christian identity of our institution.

The “Sagrado Corazón” Teacher Training School has undertaken this educational challenge and is committed to providing our students with

  • quality academic and professional training to prepare them to work as teachers in the fields of early childhood and primary education. In line with the aims of higher education, the “Sagrado Corazón” Teacher Training School prepares education professionals who can transmit knowledge with rigor and excellence, who are engaged in research and innovation to contribute to the educational and scientific advancement of our country, and who understand the social and educational setting so they can respond truthfully to the needs of society.
  • a personal and comprehensive education that attends to all dimensions of the individual, particularly those which are transcendent, in accordance with the Christian concept of life, and prepares them to act in the near future as professionals of a authentic education inspired in the Gospel. The school seeks to train its students to become teachers in humanity. For this reason, we educate our students to value individuals as they are, embrace diversity as an asset and not as a difference,  promote cooperation and solidarity, and work in teams where all members give the best of themselves. Our students learn to reflect about themselves, others and the world, to be inquisitive and stay informed about world problems and make those problems their own, that is, to become responsible, caring and free individuals.
  • authentic religious training. Our school provides the appropriate setting to train Christians educators to transmit their greatest treasure with enthusiasm: the Gospel. The training our students receive provides them a unique opportunity to learn to give reasons for their faith and hope in the deepest heart of man, while offering them the tools to build a life project consistent with the followers of Jesus. Our religious education allows our students to grow through the dialogue between faith and culture, and embody the message of the Gospel in the values of today’s society. For those who value the religious dimension of human existence and have faith in the Christian message, the school offers the opportunity to deepen their faith , while training to be teachers of religion in the primary school setting.
  • a deep social commitment. The dissemination of knowledge and commitment to social progress are two of the aspirations of  higher education, and even much more so from a Christian perspective. The “Sagrado Corazón” Teacher Training School provides an education based on the values of the Gospel and the social teachings of the Church, which should be manifested through a commitment to the most disadvantaged sectors of our society.

Our most sincere challenge is to educate others so that one day our world will live according to God’s dream for humanity and His kingdom comes true. Without fear, and full of hope, because we believe firmly in the words of Jesus: “I am with you always, until the end of the world” (Mt 28:20). The “Sagrado Corazón” Teacher Training School is committed to the project to build a humanity in which Christian values are the foundation of fraternal coexistence between individuals, families and peoples. Our commitment is to educate for life through the passion for educating.
