DATABASES

At this moment SIA has the following databases:

DATABASE "SPANISH PASTURES (SEEP)/ANIMAL FEED" (Free access)

THEMATIC DATABASE "PHOSPHORUS IN SPANISH FORAGES (INATEGA)" (Free access)

In addition, SIA participates in other databases

Access to the information on databases

The user can obtain information about the chemical composition and nutritive value of samples that he/she has previously selected from the feed list, where they are alphabetically arranged according to the sequence Product-Part-Process-Quality. That information refers to the number of samples and the values of mean, minimum, maximum and standard deviation for each parameter (expressed in the same unit). Besides, for each parameter, user can obtain the histogram, being possible to adjust categories in the X-axis.

"DATABASE "SPANISH PASTURES (SEEP)/ANIMAL FEED"

From the beginning, one of the main goals of SIA has been to establish a collaboration network among agents in animal feeding sector with the objective of putting additional value on information obtained and already used in laboratories, especially the information regarding chemical composition and nutritive value of feeds.

With this aim, the role of ASSOCIATED organism has been designed, whose main objective is to send SIA the obtained and used information which is adequate for its incorporation in a DYNAMIC feed database ("ANIMAL FEED"). This database has been available for consultations of the associates in this website.

Moreover, the Spanish Society for the Study of Pastures (SEEP) promoted in the year 2000 the transference results research project "Characterization, Cartography and Evaluation of Spanish Pastures" (Project INIA-CCAA Nº 0T2000-037.C17) with the purpose of synthesizing and systematizing the information and research results about Spanish pastures dispersed in more than 2000 scientific publications since the beginning of SEEP activities in 1960.

More than 200 Spanish researchers were organized in 19 territorial work groups, according 7 thematic fields, one of them dedicated to "Productive Dynamics and Nutritive Evaluation of Pastures" (PARTICIPANTS), which collected the available information on production and quality of all types of Spanish pastures evaluated at that time. This information, incorporated to CALIFA software in 2009, produced a STATIC database ("SPANISH PASTURES (SEEP)") that includes more than 21000 samples and 140000 analytical values.

In January 2013, after a proposal of SIA, the Spanish Society for the Study of Pastures agreed the free access to its database. In April 2013, in order to update the database by the incorporation of new information, SEEP agreed the integration of its database with the dynamic database "Animal Feed", resulting an unique free access database: "SPANISH PASTURES (SEEP)/ANIMAL FEED".

NOTE: The information is only available in Spanish

THEMATIC DATABASE "PHOSPHORUS IN SPANISH FORAGES (INATEGA)"

This database contains the results of the R+D+i project entitled "Design of new nutritional tables to make a sustainable and rational use of phosphorus supplementation in Spain". This project has been funded by line S31 of the Junta de Castilla y León and carried out by the company Industrias de Nutrición Animal S.L. (INATEGA) between 2009 and 2011.

Final database contains 5214 analytical data corresponding to 856 samples. These data refer to basic composition and phosphorus content.

PREDICTION OF "IN VIVO" ORGANIC MATTER DIGESTIBILITY IN RUMINANTS (OMD RUMI)

The Thematic Network of Ruminant Nutrition (today included in REDALAN) collected information for the construction of a database about OMD and some of its predictors.

Based on this work, PhD Alejandro Argamentería has obtained a collection of prediction equations for "in vivo" OM digestibility in forages and byproducts typically used in Spain.

Results are:

  • OMD rumi prediction equations

  • Equations use recommendations

  • Original database
