GUIDELINES TO CONTRIBUTIONS SUBMISSION

 

Content

Manuscripts could be written in English, French, German, Italian, Portuguese and Spanish. Manuscripts should be checked by a native speaker for spelling and grammar.           

Any unpublished scientific contribution related to the following thematic or methodological areas.

Declaration of originality.

Authors must submit with their works a declaration admitting officially that the article has not been published yet and that it has not been submitted to other journals simultaneously. Once the manuscript is accepted, authors, when submitting the final text and figures, must fill out a form accepting the Copyright conditions of this Journal.

 

Editorial guidelines:

1.      Prerequisites

a. The text must be introduced by a previous page with the title of the work, personal data of the author/s (name/s and surname/s, institution, postal address, telephone number, email, academic status) and the delivery date.

b. Each work must be accompanied by:

          i.      The translation of the title into English.

          ii.     An abstract in English and the language of the paper.

          iii.    Keywords in both languages, English and the language of the article. Keywords must not include the words used in the title, because title and keywords are always published together.

 

2.      Manuscript submission format

Manuscript submission format (obligatory). Manuscript Format: see Template for guidance. 

3.      Text and figures

1.Research Papers: Presentations of significant findings (no more than 25 pages with images).
2.Research Notes: Presentations of preliminary but significant findings of work in progress or brief studies (max 15 pages with images and tables).
3.Technical papers: Results of original reports of research or documentation (no more than 25 pages with images)
4.State-of-the-Art Reviews on specific subject areas (no more than 35 pages with images).

Tables, Photos and Figures: Tabular or graphical data should be adequately discussed in the text.

 

4.      Citations

Textual citations in the text or in the footnotes must be between quotation marks, avoiding italics. Italics are only allowed for place names or Latin words.

 

5.     Bibliography references system

Citations must used including a footnote indicator in the text  with the Bibliography “Harvard” Referencing System in the footnote.

Author's name must be in lowercase, a comma must be included between the author and the publication year, pages must be preceded by only one "p" (Dupré, 1999, p.254). If there are more than one page or two authors, a hyphen "–" between them must be included (Márquez – Ventura, 1999, p.254) / (Gros, 1999, p.165 – 187). If there are more than two authors, the reference must appear as follows: the surname of the first author followed by et al. locution.

 

6.       Footnotes / Endnotes

REUDAR encourages authors to use footnotes. They must be typed in Times New Roman, font size 10 and used as for both explanations or general references, as for criticism or clarification of the cited literature or for debate.

8.      Abbreviations

Whenever indicated at the beginning, the French system of abbreviations (L'anée Philologique) or the German system (DAI-Institut System) are accepted.

 

9.       Images, tables and figures

Photographs, maps, tables, texts boxes, figures, images or designs are considered as Figures and must be numbered consecutively. The text and the place where the figure should appear must be included with the reference (Fig. 1) and so on.

 

10.  Acceptance

All texts are selected by the Editorial Board according to their scientific relevance and their adaptation to the editing guidelines, in strict order of arrival to the Journal. Afterwards, they are reported by a blind peer review process by two external referees. After that, they are definitely accepted by the Editorial Board.

 

11.  Blind peer review process and modifications
  1. Papers will be sent confidentially and anonymously to two external referees to be reviewed. These experts will not belong neither to the Editorial Board of the Journal or to the author's University or working place. Referees can belong to the Advisory Editorial Board when they do not belong to the same institution of the author.
  2. Referees will submit a justified report determining the convenience about the publication of the paper. These reports will be taken into consideration by the Editorial Board in order to publish or not the manuscript. The Editorial Board will communicate to the author/s if the manuscript has been admitted or rejected, and if that is the case, the proper modifications.
  3. If the external referees do not agree in their judgement, the manuscript will be submitted to another external referee. A reviewed contribution could be considered to its publication depending on the inclusion of modifications. It must be modified and re-submitted to the Journal within one month.
  4. The new version of the work could be submitted again to the referees if necessary. This process could continue until the work will be definitively accepted by the Journal.
  5. The authors will receive a briefing explaining the evaluation reports in order to make the appropriate modifications if necessary.
  6. If the work has been admitted to be published, but minor modifications must be introduced, a Drafting Committee will  perform these changes in accordance with the author, the work could also be submitted to the author to implement such modifications.

 

12.  Final work
  1. The Editorial Board commits to communicate the acceptance or rejection of a contribution within four months.
  2. The final text must be delivered accurately corrected and the layout must be according with the edition guidelines to avoid changes during the first drafts. The text, including abstracts, keywords, references, figure captions and figures must be delivered in CD.
  3. Authors are allowed to correct the firs drafts, although no substantial changes are permitted.

 

Submission Preparation Checklist

As part of the submission process, authors are required to check off their submission's compliance with all of the following items, and submissions may be returned to authors that do not adhere to these guidelines.

  1. Articles must be original and unpublished. The submission of an article will imply admitting officially that the article has not been published yet and that it has not been sent to other journals simultaneously. If this is the case, an explanation must be written in the Comments to the Editor.
  2. The file must be sent in OpenOffice, Microsoft Word, RTF or WordPerfect format.
  3. Articles must be typed in font size 12, simple line spacing; it is preferable to use italics instead of underlining (except for url addresses); all the figures  should be in the right place in the text and not at the end.
  4. The text must be written in accordance with the stylistic and bibliographical requirements outlined in the Guidelines for the author/s, indicated in About the Journal section.
  5. The guidelines for ensuring an anonymous assessment should be followed If the manuscript is submitted to a peer-reviewed section.

Policy proposal for Offer Open Access Journals When authors publish their contributions in this journal, they agree to the following terms:

  1. Authors retain copyright and grant the journal right of first publication with the work simultaneously licensed under a Creative Commons Attribution License that allows others to share the work with an acknowledgement of the work's authorship and initial publication in this journal.
  2.
