PUBLICATION ETHICS AND MALPRACTICE STATEMENT

Transletters complies with the Code of Conduct and Best Practice Guidelines for Journal Editors and the Code of Conduct for Journals Publishers established by the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE).

1. Publication and authorship

Transletters expects that the authors will observe high standards with respect to publication ethics: plagiarism – being forbidden to publish the same research in more than one journal; duplicate publication of the authors’ own work – in whole or in part without proper citation – and misappropriation of the work of others authors. Allegations of unethical conduct will be discussed initially with the corresponding author. In the event of continued dispute the matter will be referred to the author's institution and funding agencies for investigation and adjudication.

 2. Authors responsibilities

Authors are obliged to participate in a blind peer review process. The Journal expects that all the authors have significantly contributed to the research sent for evaluation, and that all data included in their articles are real and authentic. We urge that all authors are obliged to provide retractions or corrections of mistakes.

 3. Blind peer review and the responsibility of the reviewers

Blind peer review judgments for Transletters will be objective and the reviewers should have no conflict of interest with respect to the research, the authors and/or the research funders. In this sense, the Journal confirms that the reviewers should point out relevant published work which is not cited, and that reviewed articles should be treated confidentially.

 4. Editorial responsibilities

The Journal’s editors assume complete responsibility and authority to reject or accept an article, the editors confirm that have no conflict of interest with respect to  articles  they reject/accept,  that  they will  only  accept  a  paper  when  they  are reasonably certain of its authenticity. If errors are found, the editors will ensure publication of a correction or retraction, preserving the anonymity of reviewers.

5. Publishing ethics issues

Publishing ethics will be monitored and safeguarded by the journal editorial board on the basis of a use of guidelines for retracting articles, and a maintenance of the integrity of the academic record. The Journal will always be willing to publish corrections, clarifications, retractions and apologies, when needed, on the understanding that neither plagiarism nor fraudulent data will be published.
