Phenology is the science that studies the different events that take place on plants and animals throughout the time and its relation with the seasonal climatic changes. Morphologic changes in plants are mainly controlled by local climatic factors; therefore, plants are good indicators of the conditions that characterize different climates. The answer to a combined effect of some meteorological factors (temperature, rain, humidity...) is shown in plant growth.
Phenological observations of plants can be used as an indicator to predict the next phenological events within the same plant, or even in other species. Also field phenological data of anemophilous plants offer valuable and complementary information to interpret the aerobiological studies.

Our research group carries out continuous phenological surveys of different anemophilous species present in our zone. Species with an special interest for the environment (oaks), Agronomy (olive tree) or Allergology (olive tree and grasses). Also some urban species have been surveyed during some years, such us cypresses and plane tree. The sampling area includes all the province of Cordoba, being localised in the Sierra Morena, Sierra de Hornachuelos, and Subbética Mountains, and the city of Cordoba and surroundings.
