KNOWLEDGE DISCOVERY AND INTELLIGENT SYSTEMS
The research group KDIS (Knowledge Discovery and Intelligent Systems), founded in 2009, is made up of 10 senior researchers. Their work lines are focused on two research branches: knowledge discovery and the application of artificial intelligence techniques to the development of solutions to real-world problems. On the one hand, their experience is concentrated in the areas of data science, big data, machine learning, soft computing and optimisation techniques. On the other hand, these techniques are undertaken over a variety of application domains, such as medicine, education (educational data mining) or software engineering (search-based software engineering).
Some contributions of KDIS are worth remarking, specially in the field of pattern mining and its application to different domains, including large volumes of data (big data), deep learning, multi-label and multi-instance data mining, and data science (e.g. data-intensive solutions based on workflows).
