The second agricultural campaign of the LIFE Innocereal EU project has begun with the sowing of durum wheat, soft wheat and barley in the network of demonstration farms, both in the plots under Good Practices and in the conventional ones, and in the “Rabanales” pilot farm where all the Good Practices developed in the Manual of Good Practices for cereal production, which is available for download on the website https://www.uco.es/investigacion/proyectos/lifeinnocereal/, have been implemented.
Cereal variety trials have also begun, work which is being carried out by IFAPA members on their respective research farms.
The first of these was carried out on 16 November, when we started sowing the trials within the framework of the LIFE Innocereal EU project, specifically those aimed at identifying possible interactions between varieties and different management systems. The first location to be sown is Huelma, a village in Jaén, located in a cold-sub-humid agro-climatic zone.
The trial was carried out with:†
- Barley varieties: RGT Asteroid, RGT Planet, Traveler.
- Durum wheat varieties: Amilcar, Athoris, Don Ricardo.
- Soft wheat varieties: Conil, LG Acorazado, Galera.
